The First time I walked into class I was very nervous because I did not know what to expect and what knowledge I would end with. Throughout the trimester I have learned so much the first time we got the cameras out and Mr. O'Donnell Said, "Go take photos be back in 20 minutes". My photos were actually so bad it was sorta funny, I think I have really learned a lot in Digital Photography 1. 12 weeks later after learning how to take a good photo my photos are actually decent. The shooting assignments really helped with that at the beginning I thought it was going to be a pain having to take at least 50 photos every week, but in the end I have realized that it really helped me grow as a photographer. The first few weeks I struggled, my pictures were not very good, then as we went on and learned how to better use the settings on the camera my photos got better. I had always struggled with photo shop and I think I will for a while we did many many photoshop assignments. Starting out they were not ending up as well as I would have liked but it was ok. I have learned what all the tools do and what they are used for it has help me to do the photoshop assignments and even edit my photos. The photoshop assignments really helped me further my photoshop skills and I feel that I know so much more now leaving then when I first walked in. For these assignments we had to for the puns one come up with a pun or find one online and take photos that would represent that and make them into a funny picture of that pun. Then for the visual dictionary we had to take a word and find photos that would fall under that category of that word and blend them together. Puns: Visual Dictionary: What I learned: I learned how to blend the photos together and how to use the eraser tool it was much harder than I thought because I had to look up puns and different words because I had no ida what to could do then when I found a pun or a word I had to get pictures for the topic and that was sorta hard because I had an idea and none of the photos fit that idea so I had to change my idea to fit what I could work with
For This Assignment we had to take a minimum of 50 photos of our selected topic for mine I chose to do landscape and then we had to take the best 6 best one and 5 more and blog them. Unedited photo Edited photo: Just some sharpening done Shutter speed: 1/640 Aperture: f4.0 ISO: 200 Next 5 best photos What I learned I learned that taking landscape photos is not easy because you have to find the right place to take them and at home I have very limited options so this is what I was able to come up with i think I could have taken better photos but i was struggling as I have very few topics left to chose from
For this assignment we had to take photos of someone in a hornet hub studio that was set up for our studio portraits and then we had to go to another location and take photos using a white bounce card for the shadows. Then go into photoshop and add a white background for the pictures this is my final product. What I learned: That when you take studio photos you have one light that is at 100% brightness and one that is at like 40% brightness used for the shadows on the other side of the face and taking photos with the bounce card was hard because you had to have a group of 3 because the photographer, the person getting photographed and the person holding the bounce card.
For this assignment we had to take at least 50 photos of our topic I chose to do nature This is the best photo edited Shutter speed: 1/640 Aperture: F3.5 ISO: 400 Editing done: Sharpening Best photo unedited What I learned : I learned that taking nature photos is kind of hard because there were no animals out it was too cold so instead I used things in nature it was very cold outside.
For this assignment: We had to take a minimum of 50 photos of our chosen topic I picked Still life because I was going to do nature but it was raining so hard all weekend so that really did not work so instead I chose to take picture of these pigs from a game called pigs up in all the different postions they could land. Original photo: Shutter speed: 1/20 Aperture: f3.2 ISO:640 Edited photo . Cropping was done 5 Next best photos: what I learned I learned that its a lot harder to take still life photos then I thought because you have to find a background and then set up the shot so that way it will look good I was originally going to do nature but it was raining super hard so that did not work so instead i had to find somthing i have not done yet.
For this assignment we had to take a few photos of someone in the same location so that when we would put them into photo shop we could layer the images then we would have to change the layers using layer mask to make it look like there is multiple of the same person. What I learned I learned how to use layer mask and take the photos and get them so that they layers right but getting the shadow right so that it was not there was kinda hard because it was not doing anything until I noticed that I was on the wrong layer i took a whole to get the camera settings right where I wanted them and I was still struggling as you can tell over my under exposed photos.
For this Assignment we had to take a minimum of 50 photos of our selected Topic to photograph for the week I chose to do light painting. Shutter Speed 8.0 Aperture f3.5 ISO- 100 No Editing was done to the original photo What I learned - I learned how you do light painting but the hardest part of doing the light painting was getting the setting right with the right light source because originally I had used glow sticks and they all turn out really bad so I found sparklers and used those instead and they worked a lot better.
For this assignment we had to take a photo of the school and then we had to use photo shop to edit it so it looks like a completely different scene than the actual photo by using the photo shop editing we have learned. I learned that it is actually much harder to do that I thought because you have to be on the correct layer and after you spend a while layering everything on and then you erase to blend the wrong thing and cant go back then I had to restart a few time
For this assignment we had to take photos and pick a few tutorial from the list or find our own then complete the tutorials and these are the finished product of what I have done. Dash Of Color Polaroid Make your photo look vintage https://www.webfx.com/blog/web-design/vintage-photo-effect-photoshop/ Add a watermark to your photo https://www.photographymad.com/pages/view/how-to-add-a-watermark-to-an-image-in-photoshop Photo Blend add a blur to your photos What I learned: I spend almost 35 minutes working on one, then my computer completely crashed and I lost it it so I had to find another one to do and i would start one then realise that it involved a brush I don't have and could not get I really struggled to do some of the easier ones because Im not good at photoshop but i had learned many new photoshop tricks to use in the future
